Licasa Treatment Center’s mission is to be exceptional in providing quality, comprehensive and accessible care for men and women struggling with mental health, addiction and or unwanted addictive behaviors. We are a social welfare company helping people towards sustained health and wellness. Licasa Treatment Center believes that mental health and addiction go hand in hand, we know that relationships are the antidote to isolation, despair and we are here to be helpful in people’s lives.

At Licasa Treatment Center, our programs provide men and women the opportunity to form relationships that are safe, secure and honest. The foundational goal of our program is to help reintroduce people to themselves in a more loving way. Together, our therapeutic relationships promote ideas, creativity, connection, health, and stability. These relationships will help you to rebuild yourself, your family, and your connections with others. Licasa Treatment Center is a supportive and empathic healing environment, where verbal communication is encouraged and supported and where people build healthy attachments and positive outcomes.

Licasa Treatment Center assists those who are serious about their mental health and healthy living. Licasa Treatment Center aims to assist its clients in acclimating to work life, family life and everyday living. Additional objectives include job placement, community outreach, improved skill sets regarding triggers and coping mechanisms, and continuing care. Our expert team develops a customized program for each client and family with the goal of establishing a safe pathway to stability, healthy relationships, and a future one will be proud of.

Program Description

Licasa Treatment Center is an outpatient and intensive outpatient alcohol and drug-free environment for men and women 18 years of age and older. Held daily, each group consists of thought provoking, psycho- educational experiences & solutions led by licensed, certified, and registered counselors. Our program is designed to provide the tools needed by adults who require structure and support.

Upon admission into the program, each client meets with a therapist and any other specialists that may be required in addressing special needs and/or circumstances. Our facility affords a fantastic array of staff and services that can address various matters. Licasa Treatment Center’s primary care program combines innovative clinical services with an intensive therapeutic curriculum that is designed to address the full spectrum of the client’s needs. Because each client entering treatment has specific issues that are unique to their circumstances, the treatment plan created between the client, their therapist is specifically tailored to ensure that the needs of that individual are met.

Andrew Levander, LMFT
Clinical Director

Andrew Levander, LMFT, M.A.C., is a California and Nevada Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who holds national certifications: Master Addictions Counselor, Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, Certified Bereavement Counselor, Certified Cognitive Behavioral therapist, Certified Internet Addiction and Web Psychology Specialist and is a Workplace Mediation Specialist. Andrew developed the first residential treatment program specifically serving adolescents who struggle with self-injury and has been the owner and Clinical Director of adult programs for self-injury, process and chemical addiction and associated behaviors.
Andrew was the recipient of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Service Innovations Festival Award, “Enhancing Treatment Quality through Program Innovation”. He was featured on The Dr. Phil Show, Oprah, The John Walsh Talk Show, NBC News, CNN, and a special on E! Entertainment as well as featured in Time Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times and many other national media outlets. In 2002 and 2010, a documentary on Andrew’s unique treatment program aired on the Discovery and Discovery Health Channels. Andrew’s twenty-four years of clinical experience, knowledge and dedication to the profession of Marriage and Family therapy, addiction and education have made him a skilled clinician, educator and leader in the field and study of mental health and addiction care and social services. Andrew is currently the Executive Director and Chief Clinical Officer for New Road Center and Seven Star Recovery where he continues to be of service to those in need of compassionate specialized care for mental health and addiction services.

Julia Kaluga PsyD, LMFT
Psychologist, Psychotherapist

Julia Kaluga is a Doctor of Psychology and also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (Pepperdine University, CA). In addition to three years of internship in a clinical setting, Dr. Kaluga’s experience includes working as a Psychotherapist in public schools, rehabilitation centers, and private practices. Dr. Julia Kaluga’s private practice “Great Minds Therapy” was established in 2016, in Los Angeles, CA. From January of 2017, Dr. Julia Kaluga also joined Los Angeles Valley College as an adjunct professor of Psychology. From June of 2019, Dr. Julia Kaluga joined Licasa Treatment Center in Burbank, CA as a Primary Therapist.

Maria Arellano, RADT
Operations Manager

Maria has worked in the behavioral health field for over 8 years in inpatient, outpatient, and sober living settings helping those who struggle with mental health and addiction. Maria has extensive experience as a behavioral tech and holding leadership positions providing operational oversight of treatment facilities. Maria is also skilled in group facilitation and case management helping  those in need reintegrate back into the community.   Maria has a passion for helping those in need and shows dedication and commitment to helping individuals get their life back on track.

Bill Heatley, LAADAC
Case Management, Group Facilitator

Bill is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Addiction Counseling and a Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling. He specializes in co-occurring conditions with an emphasis on substance use treatment utilizing a broad range of modalities. Bill has been working in the treatment field for several years in a number of care settings (residential and outpatient) and enjoys helping people move toward holistic and sustainable health and well-being. He has extensive business experience which he leverages to help clients with life skills, investment, and work skills (resume writing, interview, and job acquisition).
